On September 1st, Uranus--the planet of radical change, revolution, and innovation--is stationing retrograde in Taurus. As a slow-moving outer planet, Uranus is #retrograde about 5 months every year, so this isn't a transit that you will feel loudly everyday. Instead, it's the moments like today when the planet stops and reverses its motion that we feel the potency of its meaning.
Did you know that Uranus rotates on its side? It has rings like Saturn, but because Uranus's rotational axis is essentially in line with the orbital plane, the rings stick up perpendicular to what we'd expect. Astrologically, Uranus upends status quu. It zigs when we'd expect it to zag.
Uranus has been transiting Taurus since May of 2018. Over these last several years, there's likely been some major changes in the areas of your life that reside in Taurus (see the quick guide photo to see how this transit is affecting you). What is radically different in this part of your life? If you're a Taurus Sun or Rising, how has your sense of identity morphed?
Uranus will be moving on to Gemini in July of 2025, so this is one of the last major retrogrades it'll make in Taurus (it'll pop back in for a few months starting in November of 2025, so I can't say we're totally done with this transit until February 2026). This current moment of stationing retrograde might offer insight about what all this change means for you going forward. A great upheaval has likely occurred and its effects will ring through your life for years to come. How do you feel about it?
It takes Uranus 84 years to revolve around the Sun, so this is it. This is your one and only Uranus-in-Taurus transit. If Uranus has been beating you up, you can look forward to a reprieve once it settles in Gemini in February 2026. If, however, there is more change that you'd like to see in this area of your life, you can also work with Uranus stationing retrograde (and later direct) to manifest the change you want to see. Exercise caution, though. Uranus isn't about subtle change and you may find it overwhelming when you get what you asked for.
