Horoscopes for the Full Moon in Aquarius (August 2021)

August 22 at 5:02 am PDT, the second of two Full Moons in Aquarius will occur. The first happened on July 23. You can read more about the prevalence of two Full Moons in the same sign, and in Aquarius specifically, and how this may have shown up in your life in my post about the first Aquarius Full Moon.

In this horoscope post, though, I want to focus on how these Full Moons in Aquarius and the New Moon in Leo a couple weeks ago are adding to the major astrological story of 2021: the Saturn–Uranus square.

Uranus, the planet of revolution, upheaval, freedom, and radical change entered Taurus in May 2018 and is now halfway through its ~7 year transit. Whatever house in your birth chart is ruled by Taurus is the part of your life experiencing this Uranian upheaval. (Click here to read more about the 12 houses of a birth chart and their meanings.)

This year, Saturn--the planet of structure, discipline, and responsibility--has been transiting Aquarius in a tight square (or 90 degree angle) to Uranus in Taurus. When two planets make a square to each other, there is a sense of conflict, struggle, or tension. In this case, whatever radical change Taurus is pushing forward in your life, Saturn is challenging you to figure out how to operationalize it, materialize it, organize it. How are you going to make it real? This tension will have felt most intense in mid-February and mid-June.

While the Sun has been in Leo over the past month--as well as the Moon, Venus, Mars, and Mercury, at various times--this has added a new dimension to the Saturn–Uranus conversation. Leo is the sign opposing Aquarius, and therefore also squares (or forms a 90 degree angle) to Taurus. This new tension between the Sun and Uranus asks you how this Uranian transformation is helping you shine more authentically. How are you coming into greater alignment with your true nature? How are you freeing yourself from the limiting stories of your past and the constraints of societal expectations?

Now, in the middle of this Uranus transit through Taurus, we are seeing more clearly how our lives are being altered in a radical way. The horoscopes below detail what houses and parts of life are ruled by Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius for you personally, and then provides a reading for how to put this astrological story together to understand how it’s affecting your life.

Please read the horoscope for your rising sign. To figure out your rising sign, read this post about how to pull your birth chart. You might also want to check out my quick guide to the houses.
